‘Fancified’ wood shelf

Recently had Michael build a few wood shelves for me.

I decided I wanted to do ‘something more’ than just paint them this time.

But of course I still had to paint it first!  This is a low and deep shelf, so I decided to ‘raise it up’ a bit.

I grabbed some boards from my sign board stash and constructed and painted this base.  Then glued and nailed the two together.

Decided it still needed a tad more ‘oomph’ so I added this braided trim.  (I have a stash of trims; purchased at craft store.)

Ta~Da!

It has gone to my booth at Stars.

And the BEST part is that it was the prefect size to top with this metal shelf; which made the perfect display for my crowns!

After the sale . . .

VERY seldom do I get to see how the items that I make and sell end up being used in their new homes.  So it’s a real treat when I do get to see pictures of what people did with the things they bought from me.  Here are a few custom ordered signs that I made, and how they look in their new homes.

Distressed ‘NUDE BEACH’ sign ordered via my etsy shop by a mother to be.

She was decorating the nursery in a beach theme, and hung the ‘Nude Beach’ sign above the changing table.  Too cute!

 

A friend ordered both of these.  One for a baby shower gift for a relative, and one for her own personal family photo wall that she was starting now there her boys are getting married and having babies.

I just mailed out two recent etsy custom sign orders.  Working on eight more right now, and have a couple more to get done before Christmas.  

Who KNEW that ‘sign making’ would become such a huge part of what I do?!?! 

 

Custom order: Rustic wood head board

(pardon the background!  Just imagine this head-board behind a beautifully made bed piled with pillows!)

CUSTOM ORDER QUEEN SIZE RUSTIC WEATHERED WOOD HEAD BOARD MADE BY MICHAEL.

Naturally weathered cedar fence sections, cut to size and mounted on ‘legs’ for mounting to the wall.

Below is the ‘inspiration’ (found on Pinterest), the customer plans on doing the writing for herself.

Michael made his ‘evenly lined up’ along the sides, as opposed to the inspiration one that is a bit ‘jagged; on the sides.  Which do YOU like better?    Would you want to pay MORE for the ‘un-even sided’ one, IF that is your preference?  (it WOULD take a lot more time and effort to make that way, as opposed to evenly lined up)

We don’t have to wood to make a LOT of these, but can offer to make a few more as custom orders.  As shown in the first picture, in Queen size is $50.00.
