MORE Christmas in my booth at Stars

Took the rest of my Christmas goods to Stars this week.

Both of my spaces are fuller than full!

Plenty of vintage white Ironstone dishes in my wall space.

 Unique hand crafted gift boxes, perfect for that ‘little gift’ or gift cards.

Hand painted Christmas signs, red glass jar lanterns come with a battery votive and SO CUTE little vintage style car with tree on top ornaments.

Trees.  Trees and MORE trees!  Bottle brush trees in just about every size and color; mounted on unique vintage bases: candle holders, tart tins, glass vials filled with ‘snow’, spools of thread and cherub candle holders!

‘Snowfolk’ made from vintage salt and pepper shakers are making an encore appearance this year; but it will be their final year.  Get them while you can.  Bottle brush trees and snowmen are the perfect winter decorations to leave out after Christmas and before you decorate for Valentine’s Day.

Vintage crepe paper rosette ornaments also make wonderful package toppers.

Vintage sheet music rosette ornaments with classic Christmas color adornments of red, gold and silver.

Both Stars malls are open 7 days a week; 11am – 6pm.

Look what I got for Christmas!

Yep!  That’s ANOTHER Keurig mini Plus in RED!  hehe.  Every year my son asks me what I want for Christmas, and every year he gets me exactly what I asked for.  I had asked for a wedding photo enlargement and a medical alert system, since I live alone now and have a lot of medical issues.

SO, I had no qualms about buying the Keurig for myself.  Plus, I never imagined that my son or daughter in law actually ever READ my blog or Facebook posts!  Apparently they DO!  And they decided to surprise me with the Keurig, and had already bought and wrapped it when I posted that I’d bought one.

We all had a good laugh about it, and they gave me the gift receipt so I can return it.  (if anyone LOCAL wants to buy it from me, it’s brand new, still in box, unopened.  $80.00)

My ‘other’ gift from them more than made up for the Keurig kerfuffle though.  I was expecting one 8×10 wedding photo; they had an entire wedding ALBUM made for me!  I LOVE it more than I can even say!

Now I REALLY need to get that day bed / sofa and a coffee table to put the album on!!

Everything wasn’t ceompletely finished being displayed, but here are some pictures I took before leaving today to give you an idea.

The first group of pictures are of the area that I set up.  This is a ‘blended show’ so it’s not ALL my product; I just set it all up.

The Gingerberry Cottage show in Hillsboro continues until the day before Thanksgiving.  Country Christmas show in Canby ends this Saturday, and Every Husband’s Nightmare  at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro starts next Tuesday. 

Other than that, not a lot to write about.  Here are pictures of what’s new in the store though:

AND I finally moved the lime green and red decorated tree out of the conservatory to where you can actually SEE it and reach the ornaments to buy them!

The RED Christmas tree . . .

I discovered a ‘new love’ last Valentines Day.  The color combination of RED and turquoise!  It was quite by accident.  I simply had So much turquoise furniture in the store that out of necessity I HAD to display some of the red Valentine items on it.  I loved how that color combination looked and right then, even though Christmas had barely passed, I was already planning on having a red and turquoise decorated Christmas tree this year.

I have a 4′ red metallic tree (got it at Michael’s craft store two years ago) that I just love.  It was originally ‘pre-lit’ with matching red lights with red cord and sockets even!  Those lights barely lasted one season.  sigh.  (note to self: NEVER buy a pre-lit tree again!  It took me an HOUR to cut off all those burned out lights!)  Anyhoooooo . . . I determined that the red metallic tree would be decorated with turquoise ornaments this year.  I’ve envisioned how incredibly magnificent that tree would look all set up for MONTHS! 

Sadly, the reality of it was a disappointment.  So much so that I actually had to re-do the entire tree!  Here she is:

It just does not look ‘right’ to me.  I left it up for a couple of days thinking that I’d realize ‘what was missing’ and be able to fix it.

After the first day, still not liking the look.

And I STILL did not like it the next day!

But I STILL could not figure out WHY????  I like how the red Christmas stuff I put on the big turquoise shelf looks:

See what I mean?!?!?  I LOVE the red/turquoise combination on the shelf.  But on the tree???  Not so much!  What’s the deal with that?  The color combination on the tree just feels WRONG!

I went ahead and decorated the other trees, all the while mulling over my options for what to try next on the red tree because I could NOT leave it as it was.  So, it sat ‘naked’ for a couple of days, then I finally decided to bring back the gold metallic decorations I had taken home and earmarked to take to decorate a tree at the shows with.

The turquoise decorations look SPLENDID on a regular green tree.  I’ll post pics of the remedied red tree tomorrow.
