Pictures from the show

Every Husband’s Nightmare Bazaar is now officially OPEN for business.  Tonight, 5-8pm  for Preview Night, there is a $3.00 admission charge, which entirely goes to the Washington County Food Bank.  Parking is always free and admission is free for the rest of the week.  The NEW LOCATION for the show (since the old exhibit hall has been demolished!) is the Cloverleaf Building at the far back of the fair complex.  You enter off 28th, which is right behind Albertsons.

Here are pictures of the items I have in the show:

P1370236LOTS of cute journals at really great prices, $5 – 8.00!  Perfect little gift for a co-worker or work part gift exchange.

I brought HUNDREDS of these handcrafted vintage sheet music rosette ornaments this year.  Last year I only made one box of them and they sold out after the first two days.  I made she to make PLENTY of them this year.  These make great package toppers too.  Priced from $1.00 – 2.00!

UNIQUE wreaths, wall and door decor in lots of different sizes and styles!

I scoured thrift stores and estate sales all year to curate a huge assortment of vintage salt and pepper shakers to make these cute snow folk!  I bet you can’t buy just one!  Fun upcycled Christmas ‘trees’ made from vintage aluminum Jello and tart molds.

Unique gift boxes make great decorative items too.  They are the perfect container for a gift card.

P1370055Throw pillows with REMOVABLE holiday decorations so you can still use them AFTER the holidays are over.  The wreath is even ‘separate’ and can be used otherwise!

Decorative weathered wood shutters with removable wreaths too.  Take the holiday wreath off and add different decorations for each season.

P1370267They have somewhat been ‘buried with product’, but I’ve got some wonderfully grubby step ladders, 4′ and 6′.

p1320982

I use a 6′ ladder in my garden and put planters with wave petunias on each rung.  Buy the end of summer it looks like a waterfall of flowers!

Handcrafted mini cupcake ornaments.  TOO cute glittered high top sneaker key chains.  Red glass jar lanterns with metal candy cane ornament attached.  BIG gold glitter reindeer: these have glitter on BOTH sides.  Perfect for window decor and you don’t have to look at the ugly bare side from the inside!  Hand stitched red and turquoise vintage style ornaments.

Hand painted signs.  Pink or white shabby chic stockings.  Adorable red truck with Christmas tree ornaments.  Hand stitched grey wool felt Scottie dog ornaments.

Hand crafted banners.

And a few photos throughout the rest of the show.  There is SO MUCH MORE than I could ever show you in pictures.  You need to BE THERE and see it all in person to really enjoy it.

April 18 -22, 2017  ~ Weekdays 10am – 8pm; Saturday 10am-5pm

(take advantage of the evening shopping hours if you want to avoid the crowds!)

I stopped back by the show to take photos after I had stocked my booth at Stars.  I wasn’t able to take as many photos at the show as I’d hoped to because I ran out of memory!

P1310666

I brought plenty of signs!

And my ‘new favorite’ thing to make . . . . .

P1310645

CROWNS!

P1310646

Lots of different sizes and styles.

~ Vintage sheet music ~ Glitter ~ tea stained lace ~ with all kinds of adornments!

Something for everyone!

Look for my mermaid style crowns in the beach display.

Grubby candles!  I found a stash of grubby candles leftover from when we had our store!  They STILL smell amazing!  In fact, you will probably smell them before you see them.  This is the last of them, so grab them up while you can.  I won’t be producing them anymore.

P1310660

I brought lots of ‘bits & bobs’ for the crafters and scrap bookers.  Vintage Bingo cards.  Vintage paper doilies.  Little notebooks and journals.

All kinds of fun little stuff in these jars too!

On to the rest of the show!

Americana and vintage; quilts, Pyrex and silver.

So much more than I was able to take pictures of!!!

Cream and black and white goes with everything!

It’s SHOW TIME!!

Sorry I’m a little late getting these pictures of the show posted.  I’ve been distracted by all this sunshine; as I’m guessing the rest of you locals have been too!  Fear not!  The rain is supposed to return tonight so you won’t feel guilty abandoning your gardening duties for a little shopping adventure!

Looks like ‘my color’ is catching on with a lot of other vendors!

SHOPPING TIP: Best times to avoid the crowds is evenings!!

Prettied up prayer candles

Here’s my newest batch of prettied up prayer candles.

P1230512In the past I’ve used vintage sheet music for the background paper.  This time I decided on old dictionary pages.

P1230514There are SO many pretty colors and styles if paper doilies available now.  I love this turquoise and kraft combination.  The center medallion was punched from some wrapping paper I bought that has assorted vintage looking handwriting on it.

P1230650I don’t care for the look of the plain white paraffin wax that these are made of, and they always have at least an extra inch of wick.  So I top them off with some scented candle was.

P1230649I tied a couple of reproduction keys around the rim with some turquoise/white bakers twine.

167532You can find prayer candles at just about ANY grocery store, but the plain white ones like this can sometime be more difficult to find.  Dollar Tree always has them in stock.

P1230513My booth at Stars is SOOOOO packed with Christmas stuff right now that I am probably going to set these aside until the first of the year, or maybe spring.
P1230521I made this altered bottle at the same time as the candles.  Just an old glass bottle and some of the wrapping paper glued around it.

P1230520The ‘padlock’ came from the craft store.

P1230519As did this key with ‘MEMORY’ stamped into it.  (I think the key was from a Tim Holtz set.)  I put a band of tea stained muslin around the neck of the bottle, and tied the key on with bakers twine.  I’ll set this one aside too, until I get a whole batch of altered bottles made to take in.

Now, back to watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, and ‘resting up’ for craft show delivery and set up.

Every Husband’s Nightmare at the Washington County Fairplex; Tuesday – Saturday.

Coming (and GOING) attractions

Well if you haven’t been to my booth in the new antique mall, Curiosities in Beaverton; you have precious little time left to do so.

P1120005

The mall will still be there, but my booth, will not be as of the end of March.  I really did my best to make it work.  Really thought that a location ‘closer in’ the suburbs (more convenient for our former store customers than Stars) would be IDEAL.  Alas, it just isn’t working out for me.

Fabulous antique enamelware table now just $50.00. SO Farmhouse chic!

Fabulous antique enamel ware table now just $50.00. SO Farmhouse chic!

The good news is that I will be having a moving sale and EVERYTHING in my booth (including several  of the big shelves and display fixtures!) will be 50% off.

These display shelves WILL be for sale at half off!

These display shelves WILL be for sale at half off!

I still have the ‘HALF PRICE WHITE SALE’ going on right now.  Will be changing the sign to half off EVERYTHING moving sale some time next week.  Will post that notice on my Facebook page,  then here in my blog as soon as I have time.

ALL signs will be half off!

ALL signs will be half off!

COMING ATTRACTIONS???

I will be returning as a vendor to Every Husband’s Nightmare for the spring show April 21 – 26th.

P1110955

I can no longer ‘haul and set up an entire mini store’ like I used to do for this show.  So I had to think of something that I could more easily set up and tear down and haul.  I’ve built up quite an extensive collection of hand painted signs via my etsy shop and decided that they would be just perfect for the show.  (esty prices run a little HIGHER than what I price my signs at for local sale) .

A very SMALL preview of some of the signs that will be available at the show.

Mark your calendar and save the dates!

*** I will still continue on with my booth at Stars antique mall in Portland; just giving up the secondary booth in Beaverton.  I add new inventory at Stars several times a month.

2012 Antique and handcrafts show – Every Husband’s Nightmare Bazaar

I’m not participating in the show anymore (due to my damaged spine), so it was REALLY fun to go as ‘just a shopper’ today!  Found lots of goodies.

35 decorated Christmas trees to inspire you.  (ALL the decorations ARE for sale!)

Vintage furniture; primitive and shabby chic.

Really, a little bit of just about EVERYTHING!

Stuff for kids, handcrafted jewelry, Oregon gourmet foods, gifts for gardeners, scarves and hats and things for your four legged friends.   Hop over to my Pinterest   to see LOTS more pictures!

More Spring show pictures

These pictures are of some of the ‘blended areas’ of the show, but not the ENTIRE show.  I ran out of disk space on my camera and didn’t get pictures of the antique area and a lot of the spring decor and craft areas.

The show continues through Saturday, April 23rd.  Open weekdays until 8pm and Saturday until 5pm.  Shop in the evening to avoid the crowds!

Pretty pink angel

I had made her to go to the show right before Valentine’s day; but the box she was in got lost in the shuffle and she never made it out!

This is the last of a batch of pre-sewn (but not stuffed) bodies that I swapped out some wood stuff for with a sewing frined a while back.

Her body is made from basic muslin.  I tea stained it with my own special stain recipe.  If you can stain before you stuff the bodies, you’ll waste less stain, because it will soak into the polyfill.

Her pretty pink petticoat is just hand stitched using a piece of vintage lace.

I guess she’ll now be destined to go out in the upcoming spring show.  I plan to do a small pink section along with my ‘usual’ beachy blue.

LOCAL FOLKS:  Mark your calendars and SAVE THE DATE for the spring EVERY HUSBAND’S NIGHTMARE BGAZAAR.  ~April 19-23.

Show pictures . . . and apologies!

SIGH!  Sorry it’s taken so long to get the pictures posted.  Stormy weather always disrupts our internet and I haven’t been able to get on line for days!  And on top of that, I wasn’t able to take very many pictures because my camera battery died and I didn’t have time to go buy a new one.  So I could only take pics where I had access to an outlet to plug my camera in.  sheesh!

Here are some pictures of our area of the show.  I couldn’t ‘reach’ the rest of the show due to outlet access, but there is a LOT of wonderful HOLIDAY DECOR!
