Christmas is less than a week away!  WhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaTTT?!?!  How is it that even though Thanksgiving was early this year, basically giving us an extra WEEK between then and Christmas; that Christmas has still snuck up on me?!?!  I have not even started wrapping gift yet!  sigh.  And to further ZAP my Christmas spirit, I have to go to Costco tomorrow . . .  because I use their pharmacy for my prescriptions.  Ug!

This is really one of the BEST sales of the year at Stars.  LOTS of vendors bring in ADDITIONAL inventory to set up on the sidewalk outside.  Don’t miss this sale!!

I have added a few little ‘hints of fall’ to both booths . . .  just to get you in the mood for fall.  (Not that anyone needs to be enticed to ‘think fall’ after the record HOT summer we’ve had!)

My very favorite style of vintage dishware; white Ironstone with scalloped edges.  I have a collection of vintage Johnson Brothers English Ironstone at home that I use.  The ones I have stocked at Stars are from various manufacturers, some from England and some with no maker’s mark.  There are over EIGHTY of the little ‘dessert’ size plates.  I got a GREAT deal on them, and as I am in the habit of doing, I’ve passed my savings along to the buyer in my pricing.  Regular price on the dessert plates (no maker’s marks) is $2.00 each.  Get them for just $1.00 each during the sale!!

I’ve decided to part with some of my personal collections.  My ceramic hand collection and my Ironstone Lion’s head soup tureens (two sizes) and ramekins (two sizes).  The lion’s head ramekins are TOO cute!

IT’S TRUE!! The store-wide STARS Sale has been extended!!

Normally I wait until AFTER a sale is done before I go in to re-stock.  Given that the sale was supposed to end this Monday, I packed a bunch of newly refinished furniture in my car on Sunday, to take in on Tuesday.  THEN, I got an email from the owner, announcing that they’d decoded to extend the sale.  Well, I was NOT going to unload all that stuff (2 coffee tables, 2 night stands, a foot stool, a bar stool, a small stool and a small side table!) back into my garage only to have to load it all back up again in a few days!  I just decided “What the heck!  I’ll just take it in on Tuesday anyhow!”

So, NOW there is a bunch of BRAND NEW inventory in my booth that is 50% off through Sunday, June 10th when the sale ends.

My ‘grand idea’ to completely change out my second space has been put on hold for a while.  I hurt my OTHER knee this year, working in my garden.  sigh.  This one hurts SO much more than when I hurt my right knee the last three years.  And I was being SO CAREFUL in hopes of avoiding another ‘gardening injury’ this year.  Alas, my old body just ain’t what it used to be and I’ve just GOT to slow down!

I spent the better part of May, sitting in my recliner with my leg up and ice on my knee; reading or watching TV and changing out the ice pack for another one from the freezer when it got too warm.  Two trips to urgent care and two steroid shots and I’m still ‘limping along’. Pfffffffffffffffftttt!!!  All that extra work of completely changing out my wall booth is just too much for right now.

I HOPE to get back to the original plan soon.  For now, I left most of the same stuff in the wall space booth and will change it up a bit more next week, after the sale.  I added a couple of pieces of furniture to it and re-worked it a little for now though.

The sale begins Thursday, March 1 and continues through Monday, March 5, 2018.

STORE HOURS ARE 11am – 6pm; 7 days a week

And, as I am in the habit of always doing, everything in MY booth will be 50% off during this sale.  Price tags show the regular price; discount will be given at check-out.  Look for the sale signs in the other booths for the discount that other vendors are offering.

Final ‘pre-market’ post.

It’s almost time!!!!

My car is already loaded.  The kids (my son and daughter in law) are helping me load the U-haul tomorrow evening, and Thursday morning we deliver to the Rebel Junk Marketplace show at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

A couple of quick pictures of some last minute items I just prepped for the show.

Several different colors of REAL dried Hydrangea.  (from MY garden!)

Shabby chic square metal birdcages.  You can see what they originally looked like in the upper left hand picture.  I dry brushed them with a soft white paint, originally just as a base coat and prep before spray painting them white and distressing them.  I decided the the dry brush looked so good that I didn’t need to do the extra work!

LOVE these red and white lace edge metal cake stands.  (I love cake stands in general though!  I have a personal collections of 8 of them!)  They are so much fun to work into booth displays; for adding height or emphasizing a certain item.

Lots of assorted glass bottles and vintage jars headed to this show.

I’ll be spending all day Thursday and Friday setting up my double wide booth.  Hoping to get done in time to take photos before the early bird shopping starts on Friday evening.   (I did NOT accomplish this last year.  sigh.)   And I’ll TRY to post some photos when I get home Friday night to give you locals a preview.

I’ll for sure have time to post pictures next week, after the show for those of you who are not local and can’t make it to the show.

P.S. Bring CA$H.   While many of the show vendors do have smart phones and apps/ devices that allow them to take credit or debit cards as payment; I DO NOT.  I still just have a regular old ‘dumb’ cell phone and am only able to take cash or checks.  Sorry.

(I learned the hard way last year that a lot of people don’t even CARRY checks anymore!)

There IS an ATM in the front lobby of the building if you forget; BUT, be prepared to wait in a long line if you need to use it.  I heard there was a line at the ATM all day at last years show!  You have been forewarned.

Children are, of course, welcome at the show and admission is free for kids under 12.  BUT, I feel the need to mention that there is a very ‘packed crowd’ at this show; and little ones are not going to be able to see much of anything except for the ‘back end’ of all the adults who are in front of them.  I felt really bad for all the kids I saw at last years show, just staring at a ‘sea of butts’ in front of them.  PLUS, many of the booths do not have wide enough aisles to accommodate a stroller.  So, for their sake and your own, leave the kiddos at home with dad or a sitter and you will BOTH enjoy the day more.
