Shabby white spring make over in my booth at Stars.

Got most of the recently completed white items displayed in my booth at Stars this week.

P1120498The white table (former desk top) with rusty base, corner shelf, the plain little square table, and all the candelabras set up at the front, left side.  This is the view standing in front of the booth.

P1120439This is how it looks once you walk into the booth a few steps and turn left.  Here you can see the vintage vanity chair and  newspaper/magazine table partially under the upcycled desk table.   The metal bamboo candle lantern, and a Pottery Barn cubby shelf that I’ve had for a while.   Turquoise and aqua glitter Easter eggs in a glass jar and wood tray.  It’s hard to see, but the big rusty white hanging candle chandelier in on the table right in front.  (note to self: MOVE that chandelier and put it on something DARK so it will show up batter!!!)

P1120465

Closer view of the chair.

P1120466

Closer look at the newspaper stand.

P1120443Outward facing left side of the booth.  The shabby white night stand with the Lion’s head drawer pull and the tall black lamp table with vintage book pages on top, both sitting on top of an upcycled crib bench.   A couple of shabby white bird cages  too.

P1120447Better look at the two bird cages.

P1120449

P1120450

P1120451

P1120452Yet ANOTHER white bird cage; this one filled with dried hydrangeas.  I LOVE the LOOK of dried hydrangeas.  HATE how easily the fall apart and shed!  Displaying them in a cage is a prefect solution!

P1120454Here’s that hanging candle chandelier again; still hard to see against the white table.  A little white cupboard with chicken wire door with a white and aqua candelabra on top; and behind that a white jewelry armoir.  A few new white bird finials too.

P1120479

P1120480

P1120481

P1120457

P1120456The white and aqua candelabra.

P1120455The candelabra that was black that I repainted sits atop the white corner shelf.

P1120459Vintage white ceramic bunnies and jars of speckled eggs on the corner shelf.

P1120461Two-gallon mercantile jars; on left filled with vintage crochet thread for sale WITH the thread included.  Hand stitched felt hearts with vintage buttons in the jar on the right; hearts sold individually and separately from the jar.

P1120462Another jarful of vintage wool yarn.  This is a 1-gallon jar; sold WITH the yarn.

P1120478Child size bowback chair with vintage wood bowls.

P1120442

P1120438

P1120440More wood bowls; these painted aqua on the outside.

P1120488

Moved the ginormous cubby shelf to the back corner of my booth.

P1120453HUGE vintage bentwood cheese box.

P1120471Big wicker picnic basket with starfish, smaller slat wood basket.  Little turquoise drawer is filled with packets of note cards.

P1120499This batch of aqua shelves pretty much remain here permanently; but I DO change out what it displayed on them seasonally.

P1120444Just moved all of the white dinner plates and large serving bowls to this shelf on the outward facing left wall.

P1120458

Upcycled round black table; lamp shade cloche sold separately.

P1120468

P1120470Stack of three aqua benches.

P1120477Blank journals displayed in a black wire cage.

P1120472Little aqua metal stand, and a new batch of small white fleur de lis finials.

P1120489Along the back wall.

P1120235Kind of hard to tell WHAT these are at first glance?!?!

P1120234They are “mini cast iron shoe form hooks”!!  Really cute.  I’ve had them for EONS; intending to use them to make coat racks.  After ten years it’s time to ‘let them go’!

P1120244Very Paris chic cloches with cherub bust handles.

P1120494LOVE creating these ‘mini vignettes’ inside old crate wall shelves.

P1120473Just added some new vintage white cream pitchers too.

Lots of new SMALLS at Stars

P1070335A big ole basket FULL of assorted monograms and small signs.  Priced $3 – $10.00.

P1070315Added a lot of new things to the spinner rack.

P1070313Bags of colorful little drink umbrellas for your summer party.

P1070314A new batch of little fauXzen Charlottes for your altered art projects.

P1070317Wild flower design blank note cards.

P1070318Sets of three blank note cards.

P1070320Very vintage looking gold foil note cards.

P1070319I moved the packaged nests with eggs to the spinner rack.

P1070321Always plenty of cute mini take out gift boxes and gift enclosure cards.

P1070305An AMAZING cake plate with dome lid!!!!  I have never seen one like this, where the platter sits flat on the table.  The platter has a raised rim that the dome top fits inside of, so the lid CAN’T slide off!  (there is one VERY tiny chip on the rim; barely noticeable)

P1070272Doing some beach themed collages.

P1070273LOVE the sparkles on the sea horses!!

1 stars bannerBrought in a LOT of newly created shell topped bottles, and have them displayed in the ‘over the bed’ shelf.

P1070087

P1070088And some newly made sea glass wreaths!

P1070118This big one has already sold, but I have several more to take in.

P1070090A couple of framed and matted sea glass collections.

P1070309And the biggest change is that I moved all the white dinner dishes from one of the ‘outward facing shelves’ on the back aisle to the big aqua hutch right by the entrance.  Just swapped them out with the cake pedestals that were there.

P1070298The dessert stands (MOST of them that is!) are here, where the white plated and bowls used to be.

P1070328It just makes more sense to have the rest of the white dishes closer to the others that I moved to the right side of the entrance a while back.  PLUS, the plates were not selling very well where I had them.  So hopefully this will improve sales!

This picture was taken BEFORE I removed the cake stands and put the plates and bowls on the hutch, but it’s the only picture that I have where you can SEE how nicely the display ‘transitions’ from the two front shelves to the hutch.

P1070307Just piled the stacks as high as I could!

P1070308And with them now being right at waist level, it will be easier to ‘dig through them’ to find exactly what you need!

P1070329Beat the heat and enjoy a bit of SHOPPING THERAPY at STARS!

OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK; 11AM – 6PM.

New pictures from Stars

SO, I had intended to get around to posting these pictures yesterday.  Alas, THAT post kind of went WAY out in left field (sorry for such a LONG rant!) BUT, writing it all down DID bring me some clarity and a few new insights to mention my next appointment.

Anyhoooooooooooooo . . .I was really short on time at Stars and had a lot I wanted to move around.  Got about HALF of it done!  Didn’t get ANY of the new product out, but at least the major stuff that I wanted to move, got moved.  So next week will be an easy trip.  Here are the new pictures:

Moved this shelf from the back right side of the booth, to the front; and moved some of the white dishes from the small booth to here.

This cubby shelf is just sitting on top of  the lower shelf; and holds all the crocks and dark ironstone.

White dishes moved from other space.

Also moved this cubby shelf from the small space.  It was on top of the big enamel table.  HOPING that if I clear some of the clutter off that table, that it will SELL!

Still a lot of white dishes in the smaller booth; just not as crammed in!

Put some lighter and more open and easier to move stuff on top of the table for now.

You can better SEE how big the table really is now.

I did get a couple of new items taken in; like this awesomely rusty metal corner shelf!

Little old step ladders are great display pieces!

I always seem to cluster the round tables together!  Never have enough ROOM to spread them out!

Old book love.

I’m always amazed at how much I can cram into such a small space!

Dessert pedestal plates.

Vintage rusty cart (with electrical outlet!) and vintage sweeper.

Bring mom in for a Mother’s Day shopping treat!

Restocked at Stars

Spent FIVE hours stocking and rearranging my two spaces at Stars yesterday.  Both booths are PACKED with goodies!

AAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!  My digital camera must be ready to be retired.  I’ve NEVER had problem with focus in the past, but all of a sudden, HALF my pictures are ‘fuzzy’.  And I can’t really tell when I take the pic if it’s blurry with just that tiny window to view the results in.  sigh.  Well, for now it’s either blurry pictures or NO pictures at all.  We deliver to the show tomorrow so I don’t have time to go back and re-take photos.

But at least it IS stocked up enough to last the week, should I be too busy with the show to get back in right away.

Added LOTS of new product to my second booth too!

New display in the big lantern.

LOTS of new cloches!

Vintage child size ballet slippers under a make-do Paris chic cloche.

BIG bird cloche.

And of course all the birds have CROWNS!

A REAL cloche is a rare find!  Even rarer, to find one priced reasonably enough to re-sell!  It has a very tiny chip along the rim (just below the price tag if you are looking in person)  Still, it’s an AWESOME piece!  AND a darn good deal at just $29.00

Especially love the cloches that are BIG enough to create a vignette under.

Shell topped cloche.

another ‘beachy’ cloche with a starfish handle.

SO glad I thought of the crowns for the birds.  They really add that perfect finishing touch and unique aspect.  IF you already have your own birds and/or cloches and just need some little crowns, I’ve got those available too:

In a 2/pk for just $4.00.  Just silver glitter for now.  Will get some of the vintage sheet music ones done after the show.  And I DO have some of the crowns listed in my etsy shop.   They are a tad more expensive on etsy for the fact that I have to package them in a special plastic container to prevent damage in shipping.

Awesome vintage bird cage; $47.00.

Little nest in a vintage urn with eggs and crowned bird sold separately.

Tall nest filled urn.

Sweet shabby chic table top conservatory to fill with plants or other decor.  I just love things like this, that I can change out the contents of seasonally for a new look.

BIG Tiffany blue Paris suitcases; $39 and 49.00.

Little vintage updated Shabby Paris chic jewelry chest.

Vintage Parsons table.  Can’t believe I found one in THIS color!!

I’ve sold quite a bit of the string jar fillers; both IN the jars and just bagged.  The YELLOW ones were the first to go??  (curious as to why?)  But I still have some green turquoise and plenty of white/neutral.

A whole bucket full!

And over in my ‘auxiliary’ booth . . . some new (old!) duck pitchers.

Some awesomely MEGA huge glass jars (close to 3 gal!) ; this one I filled with all my vintage ironstone soup bowls.’

And this one, set inside a wire milk crate, is filled with old books.  What would YOU fill a big jar like this with in your home?

Moved the big white cubby shelf to this space to brighten it up.    Plus, I really needed the space to store the rest of my white dishes.  I had some in each booth, which was ‘okay’; just like it better all together.  Really makes a statement that way and better captures your attention if you are looking for white dishes.

Had to build UP the crate shelf even higher, by adding  three more crates  to accommodate all the white dishes.

Sugar bowls, butter bells and jelly jars.  Dontchya just LOVE the Liberty salt shaker??  Too bad I only found the one, and not the pair.

White serving platters, plate,  turkey gravy boat, and more single shakers.

Creamers and sauce boats.  You’ll also notice a smattering of primitives in this booth.  Old wood utensils, rolling pins, bread boards, enamel ware bowls. . .

Tureens.

Dinner plates, side plates and serving bowl.

Old milk bottles and another duck pitcher.

Cream pitchers.

Serving platter, tureen, napkin holder, gravy boat and canister.

Small platters, boats, milk glass tea cups and bird salt AND pepper shakers!

Chip/dip serving tray, small plates, small tureen, cow creamer, owl salt and peppers, and milk carton cream and sugar bowl.

Serving bowls and milk glass mixing bowl.

LOVE this grubby old bread board shaped like a slice of bread, at the back of this crate.  Ironstone plates and dessert pedestal with cloche top.

Another, slightly smaller dessert pedestal with dome lid.  Italian serving dish in back.

Cutting board, fruit design plates, pretty canisters,  quart milk bottle and decorative wood eggs.

Those wire milk crates make great shelves to hang on the wall!

Don’t forget to give the spinner rack a spin!  All kinds of great little goodies on there; like these newly stocked faux frozen Charlotte dolls.

Collections

I’ve got a few different ‘collections’ going in my space at Stars right now:

Vintage architectural pieces are always intriguing.  I’m usually inclined to ‘make them into something’, but for now I just plopped a bunch of these in a big wood trencher.

White dishes.  Classic collectibles that work with just about ANY design theme.  I’ve kept a good stash of assorted white dishes (and some milk glass) in stock for a while now.  The NEW collection is the one on the TOP of the shelf.

Assorted white cherub statues and vases!  (Designers secret:  If you find some that are discolored or just not the color you want . . .spray paint them!)

‘Nekkid’ book bundles!  LOVE these!   The batch above are paper backs from a recent rummage sale where I got them at a REALLY good price.  These bundles are just $5-6.00 each!!

The nekkid hard cover books have MUCH more character and are harder to find at good prices, so they do cost a bit more.  They are just so charming!

A bit of a ‘sub collection’ to the basic white dishes and vases, is a grouping of bird & fowl dishes.

What collections do you decorate your home with?

Now see what happens when it’s so darn cold outside that no one wants to leave their house and come shopping and I am left all alone to my own devices in the store?!?!?!

I get bored and end up rearranging half the store!!!

I wasn’t planning on doing another major rearranging until it was time for new spring product after Valentine’s day.  Alas, the boredom of the long, cold and lonely winter days with no customers to visit with took it’s toll!  Here are the results!

I bought these grubby fabric covered journals a while back, but for some reason they just weren’t grabbing me.  I had them sitting on my counter for days and just kept looking at them and looking at them trying to figure out what was missing???  I didn’t want to embellish the cover too much and detract from the simple charm of them, but they needed ‘something’!  I finally settled on these stained strips of muslin with ‘my memories’ stamped on them.

And of course in order to move this stuff to HERE, I had to move what was here to somewhere else in the store, and rearrange those sections too!  I’ll save that for the next post though.
