Updated little armoir

5.13.13 mancave ETSY 025Cute little armoir I found at the thrift store.  Knob on the right drawer was broken off (but stashed in the drawer!)

5.13.13 mancave ETSY 026I was unable to remove the knobs and put on all new ones, so I crossed my fingers and glued the broken one back in place with my trusty e6000 adhesive.  It worked!

6.4.13 projects CURIOUS Stars 005I decided to go with white spray paint for this one; and leave the inside blue.  Just taped some paper to the insides of the doors while I painted.  The paint coverage was fine, but now that the crystal knobs were all white, it was a little bland.

6.4.13 projects CURIOUS Stars 007After a bit of rummaging through my craft supplies I happened upon some little fake rhinestones.   Put them on each of the knobs and a few more good measure.

6.4.13 projects CURIOUS Stars 008The contrast of the blue inside shows up much better in person.  Glad I decided to leave it.

Haven’t decided which mall space this will be going to just yet.

Here’s what’s new in Sophie’s Cottage: April 2008

Vintage cottage blue twin bed (head, foot-board and side-rails; mattress not included)  Perfect for a small guest room or sitting area to use as a daybed.

An Alpine tree with white lights, stars and wish and dream signs nicely fills in the corner where the bed is angled.

Tilt top lap tray perfect for reading and writing on, and of course, breakfast in bed!

An old suitcase set atop a bench makes a nice little catch all table for the end of the bed.

Everlasting grubby candles are back!  Hollow center to hold a regular or battery operated tea light.

Primitive candle chandelier with grubby votives.  It has holes to use regular taper candles, but I kinda like the look with the votives instead!

A couple more grubby candles and holders.

Primitive repro molds.

New pink shelf sitter signs.

Bench made from vintage headboard.

Tall ‘nesting box’.

Garden stakes and luminaries.

This weekends project

Michael picked this trailer load of curly willow a couple of weeks ago.  Found it listed on Craigslist.  He actually helped the guy pull the tree up.  He took a few of the bigger pieces and planted them so we’ll have some fresh for the store every year!

Now we just have to figure out how to ‘package’ this stuff up so it’s ‘sale-able’!

I’m thinking we have enough to make a couple of ‘trees’ by bundling up a big batch and putting it in a plastic bucket of concrete.  Then a bunch in smaller bundles tied up with twine.  Most of it will probably go to the spring shows.  Just don’t have room for a while lot of it at the store.

I WISH we had a higher ceiling at the store and I could hang it from the ceiling!

The ‘to do’ pile

Most people have ‘to do’ LISTS.  We have ‘to do’ PILES!  Here are a few pics of what’s currently in our to do pile:

Time’s a wastin’!!!
